Andre Drummond and the Cleveland Cavaliers are interested in signing a contract extension, per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

Drummond will pick up his player option and will remain with the Cavaliers for another season. However, since he will become a free agent in the summer of 2021, both sides already are interested in a contract extension.

“At this point, sources say, both sides have shown interest in an extension. But there’s so much to figure out before late October, when Andre Drummond could technically sign a new deal,” Fedor reports.

In eight games with Cleveland following his trade from the Detroit Pistons, Drummond averaged 17.5 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.
