The Detroit Pistons announced the agreement with young center Justin Patton. Patton, the 16th overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft, was part of the deal that sent Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

That was the first move of the team under the new General Manager, Troy Weaver. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed, per team policy.

In nine career NBA games, Patton has averaged 1.8 points and 1.2 rebounds with Minnesota, Philadelphia and Oklahoma City.
