Dallas Mavericks center Willie Cauley-Stein has decided to sit out the resumed NBA season, according to Shams Charania.
Cauley-Stein and his partner are expecting a newborn child in July.
Cauley-Stein is the fourth player to decide to opt out of the NBA restart, joining Avery Bradley, Trevor Ariza and Davis Bertans.
In 13 games with the Mavericks after being traded by the Golden State Warriors, Cauley-Stein averaged 5.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
The Mavericks quickly filled Cauley-Stein’s roster spot for the rest of the season, as the team signed Trey Burke.
Burke will get a minimum-salary, rest-of-season deal and will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
It was recently reported that the Mavericks were interested in Burke before they officially signed him.
Burke, 27, is familiar with the team, as he played 25 games for the Mavericks last season.
He will provide depth at point guard with Jalen Brunson out due to shoulder surgery.
