Darius Garland had a disappointing rookie season in Cleveland. The young guard never felt himself, as he said in his recent interview with Chris Fedor of cleveland.com.

Garland, 20, was one of the worst defenders in the league with the Cleveland Cavaliers allowing 113.4 points per 100 possessions when the young prospect was on the floor.

Also, he shot a ‘poor’ 40.1% from the field and an average 35.5% from the arc on 12 field goals per contest.

As a result, the 5th overall pick of the 2019 NBA draft said he was not in the best position from the start of the season.

“To be honest with you, no,” Garland told cleveland.com. “The knee injury, I always had it in the back of my head. It was really tough because I know what I’m capable of doing. I had to play more games and get in the weight room and get back to myself. I just wanted to get back to being myself.”
