The Houston Rockets have waived Isaiah Hartenstein, a team source confirmed to The Athletic.

His 2020-2021 contract would have been guaranteed by Oct. 17.

The Rockets just signed free agent David Nwaba to a two-year deal and had to waive a current player to make room to officially complete the deal.

Hartenstein was the odd man out for the small-ball Rockets.

In 23 games, Hartenstein averaged 4.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, but showed some flashes when he got more minutes.

He had three solid games where he put up 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists, 16 points and 12 rebounds and finally 17 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks.
