The Spurs won Game 7 of the NBA Finals on this date in 2003

The San Antonio Spurs beat the Detroit Pistons 81-74 at home to win the NBA Finals.

The Spurs trailed by nine in the second half but Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan sparked a comeback.

Ginobili scored 16 of his 23 points in the second half. He went 8-13 shooting and 5-5 on free throws. He had the best field goal percentage of any of the starters for either team in the game.

Duncan had 25 points and 11 rebounds but struggled with efficiency. He went 10-27 shooting and 5-6 on free throws. He scored 14 of his points in the second half and was a force defensively.

Both teams played well defensively. The Pistons leading scorer was Richard Hamilton, who had 15 points. No one other than Ginobili and Duncan scored more than eight points for the Spurs.
