An early season exit and NBA lockdown could be beneficial to the Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, says head coach Steve Kerr. According to him, the 30-year-old had the opportunity to rest which was much needed.

Green had many long seasons as he played in five straight NBA Finals since 2014-15. The two seasons before he and the Dubs also made it to the playoffs but were eliminated.

Kerr thinks that we will see ‘the very best version’ of Green next season both mentally and physically after he gets a lengthy break from basketball. Golden State played its last game of the season on March 10. It will be around 9 months until they play again as the 2020-21 season is expected to start only in December.

Per Brian Witt of NBC Sports:

“He made it through, and he is getting a much-needed rest,” Kerr continued. “And I think we’re going to see the very best version of Draymond next year, whenever next season starts. I feel really good about where he’s going to be mentally and physically.”

This season Green played 43 NBA games averaging 8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game for the Warriors who were the worst team in the league.
