Twenty years ago Mark Cuban became the owner of the Dallas Mavericks after purchasing majority stake in the team for $285 million. Since then the Mavs reached two NBA Finals in 2006 and 2011, winning the team’s only championship so far in 2011. Dallas became one of the elite teams of the entire league.

But there were some things that Cuban regrets. The biggest of them was letting the team’s star Steven Nash go in 2004. “Letting Steve Nash go [to the Suns as a free agent in 2004],” Cuban said via Steve Serby of New York Post.

After leaving Dallas Nash went to win two NBA MVP titles in 2005 and 2006. In addition, he and the Suns knocked the Mavericks in the second round of the 2006 playoffs.
