LeBron James won his first title after a dominant performance against the Thunder on this date in 2012

LeBron James secured a triple double and his first NBA title. He led the Miami Heat to a 121-106 home victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Miami’s “Big 3” got the best of Oklahoma City’s “Big 3.” After the Thunder won Game 1, the Heat won four consecutive games.

James finished with 26 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds. Chris Bosh had 24 points and Dwyane Wade had 20. Miami also got a boost from Mike Miller, who scored 23 points off the bench.

Kevin Durant had a big game for the Thunder, finishing with 32 points and 11 rebounds. Russell Westbrook and James Harden both scored 19 points.

The Heat were much more efficient than the Thunder. Miami went 40-77 shooting while Oklahoma City went 36-87.

The Heat led 95-71 after three quarters and coasted to the victory.

Despite Oklahoma City’s success, they decided to trade Harden to the Houston Rockets after the season. They have not made it back to the NBA Finals since 2012 and no longer have any members of their “Big 3” still on the team.

For Miami, James was named Finals MVP. He led them to another championship the following season and was named Finals MVP for the second time in a row.
