The coronavirus pandemic gave an opportunity for John Wall to suit up for Team USA in Tokyo Olympic Games. The Olympics were moved to July of 2021, which will give enough time for the Washington Wizards star to fully recover from injury.

Wall, 29, said he is ‘definitely’ interested in representing the United States at the Olympics when speaking with Marc Spears on Instagram Live.

Per Chase Hughes of NBC Sports:

“Definitely,” Wall told Marc Spears when asked if he was interested.

“When you put that Red, White and Blue on, you’re representing your country. It doesn’t matter if ‘Wall’ is on the back or whatever name is on the back, I want to represent my country. I know how much this country means to me and I would definitely love to have an opportunity to play for it.”

The last time that Wall played for Team USA was back in 2014 at FIBA World Cup. He won gold after defeating Serbia in the final.
