Ray Allen’s clutch 3-pointer with time running out in regulation sent the game into overtime. The Miami Heat went on to beat the San Antonio Spurs in Game 6, 103-100 at home. The victory forced a Game 7.
The Spurs led by 10 going into the fourth quarter and led 94-89 with 28.2 seconds remaining in the game. Heat fans were leaving the arena.
LeBron James hit a 3-pointer with 20.1 seconds remaining to cut the deficit to 94-92. The Spurs then made one of two free throw attempts.
James missed a 3-pointer but Chris Bosh got the rebound and found Allen who hit a clutch three from the corner to tie the game.
The Spurs had one more opportunity to win in regulation but Tony Parker missed an off-balance shot at the buzzer.
The Heat trailed once again in overtime but a clutch bucket from James put them up 101-100. They extended the lead to 103-100 and Bosh slivered with a clutch blocked shot at the buzzer to give Miami the victory.
James finished with 32 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds.
Tim Duncan finished with 30 points and 17 rebounds for San Antonio.
Miami went on to win Game 7 to clinch their second consecutive championship. James was named Finals MVP.
