JR Smith isn’t expected to have any charges filed against him after assaulting a vandal in Los Angeles last week, per TMZ Sports.

Video footage shows the free-agent guard beating up a male individual during a protest last week and Smith would admit he “whooped his ass” for breaking the window of his truck in another video.

“One of these little motherf–king white boys didn’t know where he was going and broke my f–king window in my truck,” he remarked. “This is a residential area. There wasn’t no stores over here, none of that s–t. Broke my window.

“I chased him down and whooped his ass. So if the footage comes out, and y’all see it, I chased him down and whooped his ass. He broke my window. This ain’t no hate crime. I ain’t got no problem with nobody who ain’t got no problem with me. There’s a problem with the motherf–kin’ system. That’s it. The motherf–ker broke my window, and I whooped his ass.”

TMZ’s report reads:

“Law enforcement sources tell us … the victim has not gone to police — no report has been filed — and, at this point, we’re told it seems highly unlikely that will happen.

“Our sources tell us without a victim coming forward, there’s no way for prosecutors to even attempt to levy charges against the 34-year-old.”

JR Smith Regrets His Actions

The former Cleveland Cavaliers star has since admitted regret over the incident.

“I’m still disappointed in myself even though people say I shouldn’t be,” he said on The Pat McAfee Show. “For me, I’m 34 years old, I have four little girls at home. I don’t want that image, regardless of whether it was right or wrong, I don’t want them to have that image of their dad being capable of doing that and doing something like that.”
