Steph Curry and Klay Thompson willed the Warriors to a victory in Kevin Durant’s final home game with the Thunder

Steph Curry and Klay Thompson carried the Golden State Warriors to a 108-101 road victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals on this date in 2016. The victory forced a Game 7. It also turned out to be Kevin Durant’s final home game in Oklahoma City.

The Thunder led for most of the game but Curry and Thompson kept the Warriors within striking distance. In the fourth quarter Thompson caught fire from behind the arc and down the stretch so did Curry.

The Warriors outscored the Thunder 33-18 in the fourth quarter.

Thompson shot 11-18 from behind the arc (a postseason record for made 3-pointers), while Curry shot 6-14 on three-point field goals. As a team, Oklahoma City shot 3-23 on 3-pointers.

Thompson finished with 41 points. Curry did a bit of everything for the Warriors, finishing with 31 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.

The Warriors went on win 96-88 at home in Game 7. Curry and Thompson combined to shoot 13-23 on 3-pointers. The Thunder went 7-27 from behind the arc.

The game would be Kevin Durant’s final one with the Thunder, as he joined the Warriors in free agency during the offseason.
