The Memphis Grizzlies will not have any particular preference on any NBA season return formula. From the various formats that the association will choose to continue play, it’s unclear what the Grizzlies would prefer or what would benefit them the most.

“The way I like to look at it is whatever the NBA decides, I don’t envy any of those decisions,” Jenkins said Monday in an interview on NBATV, via Forbes.com. “[They’re] obviously trying to create the most fair outcome which will probably be the case for all 30 teams.”

For the Grizzlies’ head coach, focusing on the moment will the most important aspect for his team, whatever the play format will be.

“I want them to focus on not worrying about whether it’s a play-in tournament or group play,” Jenkins continued. “As long as we get a shot, that’s what we were playing for with the last month and a half of the season when the season got suspended. Even though we’re apart, we’re talking about staying together and just focus on what we can control. Whatever the Board of Governors, the players association, the league office finally make their decision, we’ll be ready to roll.”

The Memphis Grizzlies prevailed in the Western’s Conference playoff battle, before the season come to an unprecedented “stop” due to the coronavirus pandemic. Namely, Memphis had the 8th best record in the West being 3.5 games ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans.
