Los Angeles Lakers forward Jared Dudley is ’90 percent confident’ that we will see resumption of the NBA season. According to him, the only thing that keeps him from being 100 percent sure is the unknown of what might happen with the coronavirus pandemic.

The 34-year-old veteran has been speaking publicly about how important it is for everyone, especially players, for the season to be resumed because of the financial implications cancellation would have on them.

Per Melissa Rohlin of Sports Illustrated:

“Right now, 90 percent confident of returning,” Dudley said on a conference call Wednesday. “The only reason why I wouldn’t say 100 percent is because you’re dealing with the unknown virus that can happen at any moment. They keep talking about the second wave or something unexpected.”

Dudley also said players will not be forced to stay in a bubble as initially discussed. Instead, they will be allowed to leave but if they test positive for COVID-19 upon return, they will not be allowed to play.

“If you come back with corona, you can’t play,” Dudley said. “We’re gonna be tested all the time…So like [LeBron James], [Anthony Davis] and all the top guys we have, we’ll be wrapping them in a bubble and not letting them go anywhere.”

The Lakers have their sights set on championship this season. They are leading the Western Conference with a 49-14 record after defeating both of their main rivals, the Clippers and Bucks, before the NBA shutdown.
