The Houston Rockets will be ready to compete, when the NBA season returns according to head coach Mike D’Antoni.

The veteran coach shared his thoughts on the Rockets with “Fox 26 Houston” Mark Berman. D’ Antoni talked on how he tried to remain in contact with the players during the quarantine and noted that he knows what it takes to get his team ready, after a ‘long hiatus’.

”Between myself, the strength and conditioning coach, trainers, Keith Jones, I’m sure we’re Zooming them out. Everybody staying n contact, making sure no one needs anything and that they are in a good place mentally & physically. I think they are,” D’Antoni said on his team during the quarantine.

Monday was the first day for the Rockets to welcome back players since the NBA’s March 19 decision to shut down all team facilities amid the coronavirus pandemic.

D’Antoni embraces the move as step-forward to resume the season and get back on playing against other NBA teams, who followed the same path the last two weeks.

“The important thing is it’s a step toward resuming and that’s what everybody’s anxious for. The last 2 months our guys have been working out… I think they’re doing all they can anyway.”
