Coming off the NBA Finals appearance in 2019, Quinn Cook is hoping to return there this season with the Los Angeles Lakers. In the meantime, he was asked how the Finals between his Warriors and the Raptors would have ended, if Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson did not get injured.

Despite giving credit to Toronto for going through tough opponents in the Eastern Conference to reach the Finals, the 27-year-old point guard was confident that the Dubs wouldn’t have had troubles if they were fully healthy.

“I mean we win. No disrespect to the Raptors. They through a tough playoff. They were at the top the entire season. They ended up getting the second best overall record in the league,” Cook told Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area during a Zoom call.

“We were banged up but we thought. They outlasted us but I still believe… if K doesn’t get hurt… it’s not even close. We win in five. We were a quarter away. If Klay doesn’t get hurt in Game 6, I like our chances in Game 7. It’s something that’s gonna haunt me forever,” the Lakers point guard concluded.

The Raptors defeated the Warriors in six games in 2019 NBA Finals winning the first-ever championship for the franchise. Game 6 was very close as Toronto managed to secure a narrow 4-point victory.
