Steve Ballmer to buy Clippers?

Even though it’s just a rumour (we hope it’s true), the Los Angeles Times have reported that recently retired Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has put a bid of $1.8billion to buy the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Sterling Family partnership have backed up Ballmer’s bid by saying that his package and pitch was a stong one and will reach an agreement soon unless he pulls out.

(UPDATE, 08:54 CET: ESPN have reported that Ballmer has agreed to purchase the Clippers for an estimated $2billion. More in the Gossip column for the 30th)

Lue to be next Cavs coach?

Current Clippers assistant coach Tyronn Lue has arrived in Cleveland to be interviewed for the vacant Cavaliers coaching role.

Yahoo Sports’ Marc J Spears tweeted the news as Lue appears to be the favourite to take over from Mike Brown, who was fired at the end of the NBA regular season.

Landi to be next Lega Basket owner?

The owner of Eurochallenge champions Reggio Emilia, Stefano Landi could be in-line to be the next President of the Italian league, Italian media say.

Previous President Ferdinando Minucci resigned from his post via an open letter and Landi is reportedly the favourite to take over the role.
