Michael Jordan is an extremely private person and, despite being opening up to fans in The Last Dance, there’s a whole lot he’d rather not share.
According to the documentary’s director Jason Hehir, His Airness did not want his interviews shot inside of his own house so they had to be done in three nearby locations.
“There are certain aspects of his life that he wants to keep private,” Hehir explained to Insider. “He just didn’t want people to see all that. I respected that, so I never pushed back.”
The director revealed two of the houses belong to friends from the production crew but they could easily be mistaken for Michael’s residence given the exquisite backdrops.
“I looked for places that seemed like Michael might live in,” Hehir added. “I knew what his real house looked like and I knew this is a wealthy guy who has certain tastes, so we wanted something to match that.
“You’d be surprised how quickly people will open their doors when you say, ‘Can Michael Jordan come over and be interviewed at your house?’”
MJ lives in a $12.4 million, 28,000 sq ft mansion at the Bear’s Club golf course in Jupiter, Florida. The 3-acre property is made up of 18 structures and has 11 bedrooms, while one of the wings is complete with a workout facility and basketball court.
