The 27-year-old forward from the United States will not continue with CSKA, according to reports coming from Russia. Hillard moved to Moscow after just one year playing in Europe with CSKA having high expectations from him. According to sources coming from the army club, “they expected more from Darren in CSKA”.

CSKA was expecting from Hilliard to help offensively when the opponents were playing tough defense on Mike James and he couldn’t score. That didn’t happen as much as CSKA would have wanted to, so the team from Moscow is already out in the market looking for the player who will replace Hilliard.

According to CSKA’s press office, “the activities of the team, in fact, suspended. In an uncertain economic situation, it is not possible to conclude contracts.”.

Hilliard’s manager, Adam Patonau, seems to be optimistic about his client’s basketball future as he believes that the American will be in demand during offseason.

“Darren has a current contract with CSKA, and it will be very difficult to say what will happen in the summer,” the agent said.
