The Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James had a strong reaction to the death of Ahmaud Arbery, who was shot back in February. The message that the three-time NBA champion posted on his social media accounts was an attempt ‘to build a brand as more outspoken than Michael Jordan’, according to FOX Sports analyst Jason Whitlock.

“This isn’t helpful. It’s twitter trolling. It’s using this man’s tragedy to build a brand as more outspoken than Michael Jordan. There are all kinds of ways to draw attention to this tragedy. Suggesting that we are hunted everyday / every time is just shit-stirring,” Whitlock tweeted.

Whitlock’s tweet caused further exchanges on Twitter including former NBA player Kendrick Perkins, among others.
