Hall-of-Famer Patrick Ewing recently revealed that he had his two Olympic gold medals and NCAA championship ring stolen.

“My house got broken into in New York, and at one point they stole my medals,” Ewing said on The Dan Patrick Show via ESPN. “So I called Jerry Colangelo [former USA Basketball chairman], and he was great to be able to get me two replacement medals.”

Ewing won the 1992 gold medal with the Dream Team.

“He took care of me,” Ewing said of Colangelo. “He’s a great guy.”

As for the stolen Georgetown championship ring, someone tried to sell it on eBay, but Ewing said he was able to get it back.

Ewing, 57, who currently coaches at his alma mater, said that this was the first time he talked about his stolen memorabilia.
