Nick Wright says the Warriors dynasty is over

Sports analyst Nick Wright is convinced that the Golden State Warriors dynasty, which played in five straight NBA Finals through 2015-2019, winning three championships in the process (2015, 2016, 2018), is over. According to him, it didn’t end when Kevin Durant decided to leave the Bay Area for the Brooklyn Nets.

Wright thinks that it was barely functioning when Klay Thompson tore his ACL and Durant decided to leave. If his assessment is correct, it marks the end of one of the most successful dynasties in NBA history, especially in the modern era.

“Unfortunately for my friends in the Bay Area, the answer is obviously and unequivocally yes. It didn’t end the moment Kevin Durant left. It was on life support when Klay tears his ACL and Kevin Durant leaves. … It’s a wrap now.”

After losing Thompson and Durant, the Warriors struggled this season which was further complicated by the injury of Steph Curry. Golden State is currently sitting at the bottom the Western Conference with the worst record in the entire league.
