Former NBA champion Paul Pierce reacted to a tweet by LeBron James in which he stated that the players would like to finish the season. The tweet came after reports that NBA team executives and agents want to cancel this season.
According to Pierce, the 35-year-old Los Angeles Lakers superstar ‘is really feeling a sense of urgency’ to complete this season: “I think LeBron is really feeling a sense of urgency here. I mean, think about it. He’s not getting any younger, he has the loudest voice in the league, he’s playing on a contending team where he has an opportunity to a championship this year. This would be an opportunity wasted. At some point, if you cancel the season, then there’s going to be a lot of ‘what if’s’. There’s no closure,” he said.
This season, The King is averaging 25.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 10.6 assists per game and is on a mission to win the title for LA, who are sitting atop of the Western Conference.
