The New York Knicks are celebrating Jeremy Lin’s run with the team during the 2011-12 season but also gave a shout-out to his then-teammate Landry Fields.
Fields was picked in the second round of the 2010 NBA Draft but played well during his rookie season, averaging 9.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
He averaged 8.8 points per contest during the 2011-12 season and played especially well during Linsanity. He quickly formed chemistry with Lin. They both saw increased playing time with Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire, who injured late in the season.
Fields only played two seasons with the Knicks but is remembered fondly in New York, especially for his impressive play with Lin and Steve Novak. He played three seasons with the Toronto Raptors before retiring. Ex-NBA swingman is now the general manager of the Austin Spurs of the NBA G League.
