Zoran Dragic led the Malaga charge with 18 points as they remain fourth but are waiting patiently for a Barcelona slip.
Another team waiting for both Malaga and Barca to slip up is Gran Canaria, who beat struggling Estudiantes at home 76-62.
After a close first quarter where neither team could be separated at 22-22, the hosts ran away with it, holding the visitors to 11 points as Gran Canaria led 55-33 at the half. From there, despite tiring, the hosts grinded out the win.
Brad Newley led the winners with 15 points.
Elsewhere, Laboral Kutxa, who decided not to play Lamar Odom had no troubles beating basement side Valladolid 84-67 to hold their playoff spot.
Tibor Pleiss led Laboral with 16 points as a dominant first half saw them to the win.
Bilbao got a good 78-68 win over Gipuzkoa, as they ran away in the third quarter to seal victory.
Roger Grimau led Bilbao with 17 points as they continue to pressure Cajasol Seville for that last playoff spot. Seville though were 84-75 victors away at Fuenlabrada as they maintained that last spot.
Joventut Badalona though dropped back in the playoff hunt when they lost 89-72 away at Monbus who are now one place above them in tenth.
