Boris Diaw has stepped down from his position as president of the French club Metropolitans 92, the team announced.

There was reportedly difficulties that arose this season regarding the way that the club operates and issues between Diaw and members of the executive board.

Diaw held the role for close to 10 months after he officially became president on July 4, 2019.

Previous president Jean-Pierre Aubry commented on Diaw’s departure via Le Parisien.

“It’s a big loss for us,” Aubry said. “He wants his distance, one can only respect his decision. He was a perfect ambassador for us.”

Alain Bouvard, a member of the management board, was named interim president.
