British Basketball have named Johannah Leedham as its Player of the Year for 2013.

Leedham, who plays her club basketball for Euroleague Women’s side Bourges in France is also in the running for FIBA Europe Women’s Player of the Year.

She collects the British Basketball Player of the Year award for the second time in her career, having won the award in 2009. Leedham guided Great Britain to its best ever finish at Eurobasket Women last year as they came within a whisker of advancing to the quarter-finals of the tournament.

The 26-year-old led Eurobasket Women in assists with 4.5 a game and finished third in scoring at 16.8 points. Since Eurobasket, Leedham has been a standout with French side Bourges, as she has led them to the top of the domestic league and guided them currently to second place in Group A of the Euroleague Women.

Leedham replaces Natalie Stafford, who won the award in 2012.
