Former NBA champion Gary Payton joined former NBA players Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson on “All The Smoke” podcast to talk various topics. Towards the end of the show, Payton was asked who his favorite player to watch today is.
The nine-time NBA All-Star said it was Ja Morant. “He got a lot of dog in him. He doesn’t back down to nobody… talks his trash too. And he just doesn’t back down to people. And he reminds of myself a lot,” Payton said. The Memphis Grizzlies rookie is the front-runner to win the Rookie of the Year award.
