Donatas Motiejunas’ struggle to earn a spot in Houston Rockets rotation continues. The 23-year-old was sent by the Rockets to NBA D-League for the first time this season and the third in two years.

Lithuanian international hoped to be traded to another NBA team with Boston Celtics rumoured to the most likely destination. However, the deal didn’t go through keeping D-Mo in Houston for the time being.

This season Rockets coach Kevin McHale is giving Motiejunas even less playing time than in his debut season last year. The numbers have dropped from 12 mpg to 8 mpg. During 7 games in NBDL last season Motiejunas averaged 35 minutes 20.3 points 9.7 rebounds per game.

The player himself reacted to Rockets’ decision to send him again to NBDL by tweeting a single word – ‘Amen’. Is he hinting to at the end of his career in Rockets. Time will tell.
