Karl Malone led the Utah Jazz to a home victory over the Seattle SuperSonics in Game 1 of their first-round series. He was unstoppable, scoring 50 points and adding 12 rebounds.

Malone became the oldest player to ever score 50 points in a playoff game he was 36. He went 18-32 on field-goal attempts and made the only 3-point field goal. Jazz legend also went 13-14 on free throws. He only had one turnover.

Malone led the Jazz past the gritty SuperSonics in five games but Utah fell to the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round.

“The Mailman” averaged 27.2 points and 8.9 rebounds per game in 10 postseason games.

Malone is currently seventh in career postseason points and second in career regular-season points in NBA history.
