Two more sides join the Round of 32 party, Eurocup round up

Cedevita Zagreb earned a 75-71 win at home to Elan Chalon to book their place into the Round of 32 in the Eurocup.

The Croatian side have finished with a 6-4 record and can finish second in Group B if Bilbao can beat EWE Oldenburg and will even finish third if Oldenburg wins.

Nolan Smith led Cedevita with 18 points and 8 rebounds as his side went on a game-changing 16-2 run early in the fourth to put the game out of the French side’s reach.

AJ Slaughter netted 19 points for Elan Chalon.

Belgacom Spirou waved goodbye to the Eurocup after a 68-63 win over first placed Dinamo Sassari. The game was purely for pride as both teams’ fates were long since decided.

Sassari though enters the next round having lost three straight games after winning the first seven. On the flip side Spirou end their European adventure for another season having won three straight after losing their first seven.

Joseph Trapani led all scorers for the winners with 24 points.

Valencia qualified for the Round of 32 in some style after they crushed Asvel 97-70.

Justin Doellman led six Valencia players in double figures as the hosts led 31-10 after one period and never looked back, eventually easing off the brakes in the fourth when the lead peaked to 30.

Asvel are now eliminated from the competition with a 4-6 record.

The other game in Group C saw already eliminated Paris Levallois use a strong third quarter to see off qualified Union Olimpija 80-63.

Elton Brown, Andrew Albicy and Aloysius Anagonye each scored 13 points in victory as Paris denied the Slovenian side first place in the group for now. Union Olimpija can still grab top spot if 1-8 Camberio Varese can beat the 7-2 Ratiopharm Ulm.

Alando Tucker exploded for 30 points as Lukoil Academic ended their Eurocup season on a high note by beating CSU Ploiesti 92-77 in Sofia.

Tucker also finished with 11 rebounds in what was the performance of the tournament so far as he amassed an index rating of +43.

CSU Ploiesti were already eliminated before this contest. Christopher Dunn led the Romanians with 22 points.
