Pops apologises for actions

Galatasaray forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu has taken to social media to publically apologise for his actions that marred his side’s Euroleague game against Olympiacos.

The Euroleague are yet to comment on the situation.

During the fourth quarter, Mirza Begic and Mensah-Bonsu were battling away in the paint when Begic looked to strike the British international. Mensah-Bonsu retaliated and the game had to be delayed before they were both ejected.

Olympaicos’ Georgios Printezis was also ejected in the scuffle.

Today, the London-born forward apologised both on his Facebook and Twitter pages or his actions. He posted this on Facebook and repeated himself on Twitter.

“I would like to apologize to my family, teammates, the fans, the galatasaray organization, olympiacos and the Euroleague.

I take pride in being a true professional and this was not a proud moment for me.

I am held to higher standard that of which I hold myself to as well, in retrospect I can only apologize for my inappropriate actions.”

Olympiacos won the game 72-54.
