The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association are reportedly working on the final details of a plan that would see every player’s paycheck docked 25% from May 15 as a result of the hiatus brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.

That is according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, who cites ESPN sources. Woj reports a formal ratification of said plan was taking place on Friday, but there are already details in place that will cause players to experience a gradual reduction in pay if the regular season is canceled and the “force majeur” provision in the CBA comes into play.

Players will receive full paychecks on May 1, their next scheduled date to be paid. The plan makes it so that a deed of sorts will see to it that players receive the withheld cash if all of the remaining regular-season games are played. If that isn’t the case, teams will keep a percentage of the money based on the cancellation of games.
