Another marathon night of Eurocup action saw the season’s first triple-double recorded, plus some big away wins as well.
Group A
Artland Dragons were comfortable 87-77 victors away at Cibona Zagreb as they grabbed their first win of the Eurocup season.
Anthony King led the Dragons with 19 points while youngster Dario Saric had a game-high 20 points for Cibona are still without a win.
30 points from Dashaun Wood helped Le Mans secure an 81-74 win over CEZ Nymburk.
The French side now improve to 2-1 while the Czechs fall to 1-2.
FoxTown Cantu thumped Ostend 83-58 in Italy despite the absence of Pietro Aradori.
Micheal Jenkins steered the hosts home with 22 points.
Group B
With two games already played, EWE Oldenburg’s 92-90 overtime win over Cedivita Zagreb was the only contest in this group.
After a bucket from Nolan Smith for the Croatians forced overtime, they found themselves ahead until the hosts pulled it back and won it at the free throw line.
Julius Jenkins paced the winners with 19 points.
Group C
Union Olimpija edged Valencia 67-64 in Ljubljana to improve to 2-1 in the group while dropping the Liga Endesa side to their first defeat of the season.
Alex Stepheson led the Slovenian champions with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Asvel Lyon scored an 85-78 away win at Varese as they improve to 2-1 in the group.
Edwin Jackson led the winners with 15 points while Aubrey Coleman’s game-high 23 were in vain for the Italians.
Group D
Telekom Bonn edged Zaragoza 108-104 in a thrilling, high-scoring affair in Germany.
It was Bonn’s first win in the competition, and a great confidence boost as well in probably one of the games of the tournament.
Benas Veikalas led all scorers for Bonn with 19 points.
Group E
Khimki scored an impressive 87-80 double-overtime win over Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel.
Petteri Koponen led the Russians with 20 points but it was Sergey Monia who helped Khimki across the finish line with a three-pointer to force a second overtime period then another three-pointer in the second extra period gave his side the lead for good.
Josh Duncan had a game-high 23 for Jerusalem.
Karisyaka Izmir were 85-69 winners over Lukoil Academic in Turkey, as 24 points from Bobby Dixon improved Izmir to 3-0 while the Bulgarians remain winless.
CSU Pioiesti kept Igokea winless with an 84-77 win in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dragan Zekovic led the Romanians with 25 points.
Group F
Novgorod beat Buducnost 83-62 thanks to a 21-6 third quarter from the Russians.
Semen Antonov led the winners with 20 points.
Aykon Ankara came from behind to beat PAOK 77-75 in Greece.
The visitors raced away in the final quarter, hitting 15 unanswered points in the final period to get the win.
Vladmir Golubovic paced the victors with a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Group G
A triple-double of 18 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists from Donta Smith gave Maccabi Haifa an easy 94-73 win at VEF Riga.
The Latvians now fall to 2-1 in the group while Maccabi have the same record.
BK Banvit were comfortable 85-61 winners at home to MZT Skopje in the group’s other game.
Group H
Besiktas beat Bisons Loimaa 61-60 but nearly let their double-digit advantage slip at the death.
The Finnish champions slip to 1-2 in the group but nearly won the game from 23-points down. Billy Keys missed two potential game-winning three-pointers as Besiktas go to 2-1 in the group.
Chris Lofton had 20 points for the victors.
Finally, 23 points from Valdas Vasylius secured a 91-86 win for Lithuanian side Neptunas away at Panionios.
