Croatia 92-88 Greece (A2OT)
Croatia sealed top spot in Group C by prevailing in their final game against Greece 92-88 after two periods of overtime.
Nikos Zisis drilled a three with less than 10 seconds left to originally tie the game at 70-70, sending it to overtime. Bojan Bogdanovic then hit a triple to send it to a double session before Croatia took advantage of Vassilis Spanoulis sitting out with five fouls and iced the game from the line.
Bogdanovic had 22 points for the winners with Ante Tomic supporting with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Yannis Bourousis had 21 for the Greeks who are now out of Eurobasket with this loss.
Italy 86-81 Spain (AOT)
Italy defeated Spain in a thrilling overtime contest despite both teams knowing their place in the quarter-finals was sorted.
Luigi Datome’s buzzer-beating lay-up put the game into overtime and from there Italy hit the all-important free-throws to get the win.
Alessandro Gentile led the winners with 25 points while Marc Gasol led all scorers with 32 points and 10 rebounds for the Spanish.
Slovenia 76-92 Finland
Finland ended Eurobasket on a high as they defeated Slovenia 92-76 in a game that meant nothing as both teams’ fates were known.
Gerald Lee led the Finns with 17 points as a 29-14 third quarter sealed the game for the Scandiavians.
Bostjan Nachbar had 15 for the hosts.
