BC Khimki announces the signing of Marko Popovic for the next two years

Khimki and Zalgiris Kaunas agreed for the transaction of the 31 years old point guard, a contract that will last two years.The experienced playmaker is the 2011 Eurocup final MVP, and last season he had an average of 13,4 ponts and 2,2 assists in 21 Euroleague games.

Popovic is a native Croatian and after 5 season with Zadar, he also played for Valencia, Cibona, Efes Pilsen, Zalgiris Kaunas and UNICS kazan. He was also part of the Croatian national team in many big competitions, such as the Olympics in Beijing (2008) and the FIBA World Championship in Turkey, two years later.

The addition of Popovic can be proved very important for the Russian club, and can lead the team to a better season, starting with many ambitions for Rimas Kurtinaitis’ team.
