Barlow signs for Polish champions

Polish champion Stelmet Zielona Gora further strengthened its roster by signing Australian forward David Barlow, who arrives from Spanish club UCAM Murcia.

The contract is for two seasons. Barlow (2.05 meters, 29 years old) averaged 6.5 points and 4.4 rebounds in 33 Spanish League games last season. He is also a two-time Olympian with the Australian national team. He represented the Boomers at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and again four years later in London.

Barlow also played in the 2006 and 2010 FIBA World Championships and helped Australia to win the gold medal at the 2011 Oceania Championships.

Barlow first came to Europe to play for CAI Zaragoza in 2009. He spent two seasons in Zaragoza; Barlow helped the club achieve promotion from the Spanish second division to the ACB in the first season.

Prior to that Barlow played his entire professional career in his native Australia. He won two Australian league championships with the Sydney Kings and another with the Melbourne Tigers. He also played one year of college basketball at Metropolitan State University.
