Erik Spoelstra made it clear he plans to remain with the Miami Heat for the remainder of his career.

Spoelstra has been with no other franchise throughout his career, starting off as an assistant coach of the Heat in 1997. He led Miami to back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013.

“[Team owner] Micky [Arison] and [team president] Pat [Riley] created this culture. Some people might think they need to venture out on their own to create their own image. I do not have any of those kind of feelings.

I feel a sense of purpose by carrying this culture on and this legacy to future teams. It’s what I enjoy. It’s what fills my cup up. I want to keep this going as long as I can. It doesn’t feel like a job,” Spoelstra said during an interview with Sirius XM NBA Radio, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
