Bobby Portis’ performance certainly did not live up to his contract with the Knicks. Portis signed a huge deal for two years, worth $30.7 million, but his performance has been quite bumpy. There was no way Portis could live up to that money. On the other hand, however, Portis had certainly improved in the last period. Just think of his performance against his former team. 28 points in 30 minutes against the Bulls.
Future far from New York
Portis made $15 million this season and a $15.7 million team option exists for next season. But, his permanence at the Knicks is far from obvious. In fact, the Knicks are unlikely to be able to sustain such an onerous contract. This means that Bobby Portis will not be playing for the Knicks next year.
