The Golden State Warriors will reportedly look to utilize the $17.2 million trade exception they received for sending Andre Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Warriors can’t acquire a player making more than $17.2 million, but trade exceptions can be split.

That means the Warriors could technically use the trade exception to acquire multiple players, as long as the combined salaries don’t exceed the limit.

Ricky Rubio, Evan Fournier, Dennis Schroder, Will Barton, Kelly Oubre, Thaddeus Young and Rudy Gay are seven players that the Warriors could add, according to Brian Witt of NBC Sports Bay Area.

  • Rubio’s 2020-2021 salary: $17 million, 2021-2022 salary: $17.8 million
  • Fournier’s 2020-2021 salary: $17 million
  • Schroder’s 2020-2021 salary: $15.5 million
  • Barton’s 2020-2021 salary: $13.92 million, 2021-2022 salary: $14.88 million (player option)
  • Oubre’s 2020-2021 salary: $14.375 million
  • Young’s 2020-2021 salary: $13.545 million, 2021-2022 salary: $14.19 million
  • Gay’s 2020-2021 salary: $14 million

The trade exception is set to expire on July 7, but it will likely be extended with the current situation as a result from the coronavirus pandemic.
