On This Day: Tracy McGrady drops 44 against the Utah Jazz

Tracy McGrady’s first season as a ‘Rocket’ was really impressive, with per-game averages of 25.7 points on 43.1% shooting.

On this day, 15 years ago (March 28 2005), the future Hall of Famer dropped 44 points against the Utah Jazz, leading Houston to the win.

In an out-of-this world scoring night, McGrady shot 71.2% (15-21) from the field. Furthermore, he put up 22 in a quarter, while he scored 30 points in the first half.

The Rockets improved to 43-28 finishing the season as the the fifth seed (51-31). They lost to the fourth seeded Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs in seven games.
