Lee Green, former St. John’s point guard, dies after contracting coronavirus

Lee Green died of coronavirus on Monday. He was just 49-years old.

The Bronx native played three seasons with St. Johns from 1991-1994, averaging 2.3 points per game and was known as a defensive specialist. He was remembered fondly by former teammates.

“Cool guy” said Lamont Middleton according to the New York Post. “Everywhere he went Lee had a smile. He had a big personality.”

The two were teammates from 1991-1992. Rowan Barrett, the father of New York Knicks’ rookie RJ Barrett played with Green from 1992-1994.

“He always had a smile for you and was a pleasure to be around,” said Barrett according to the New York Post. “I’ve been praying for his family.”

Green did not have any known pre-existing conditions.
