With the civil unrest now entering its second week in entire Turkey, many Turkish and foreign basketball players have stressed their support to the fair demands of the demonstrators while condemning police brutality.
This is probably the first time that professional athletes in Europe appear so politicsed and are not afraid to take sides and express their support to the demonstrators, something which has not happened in the past few years in countries hit by unrest, like Greece, Spain and France. {jathumbnail off}
