Europeans in Conference Finals (West, game four)

The San Antonio Spurs are back in the NBA Finals after a 93-86 win at the Memphis Grizzlies completed a 4-0 series sweep.

Tony Parker (France) – 37 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists.

The Frenchman saved his best performance for last as he tore Memphis to shreds. Even an eye injury late on didn’t faze him. He went to the locker room, came back and drilled a mid-range jumper off a Tim Duncan screen on his first possession back on the floor.

Parker was instrumental in the Spurs’ fantastic transition game in the first half. His passing was sublime and the mid-range game was flawless. More than earned his place along with the Spurs team in the Finals.

Boris Diaw (France) – 4 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists.

A solid 20 minutes off the bench for Diaw, highlighted with a nice dish to Tiago Splitter for the three-point play in the first quarter.

Marc Gasol (Spain) – 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 3 blocks.

He played his part for the Grizzlies, but it wasn’t enough. Looked fatigued and struggled inside for the majority, finishing 5/12 from the field.

Gasol has nothing to be ashamed about though. He played hard every night and with Zach Randolph contained for this series, really stepped up and made it tough for the Spurs.
