Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac is teaming up with a church in Florida to provide hot breakfasts and lunches to kids age 18 and under during the coronavirus pandemic.
The meals will be provided Monday through Friday, grab-and-go style, and there will be masks, sanitizers, gloves and nurses on sight to make sure everybody stays safe.
“We cannot just sit on our hands while this stuff is going on,” Isaac said in a video he posted.
Isaac also announced that he will be helping families get a box of non-perishable food items (oatmeal, cereal, canned goods, instant rice etc.) every Friday during the pandemic.
The box is expected to feed families for one week and they can get a new box each Friday.
“There is a great risk for kids who are not able to get the food that they would usually get at school and there’s a great concern for those kids going hungry at this time,” Isaac said. “We don’t want that to happen. We don’t want that to happen in our city of Orlando.”
