Former Boston Celtics superstar Paul Pierce joined Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson on All The Smoke podcast. Pierce was asked what it was like to be coached by the legendary Doc Rivers.
“Doc was somebody that we respected, because he played the game. We bumped heads, we have been arguing, we would not see eye to eye on time outs. We clashed a lot. It took a while for as [to come on terms with one another],” the shooting guard said.
“Doc turned me into a player that I ended up being. He really taught me the game. He challenged you day to day. He could fight you! He taught me how to be a real leader,” Pierce added.
