Farmar wants to win it all

Anadolu Efes guard Jordan Farmar has boldly stated that he wants his side to win everything domestically available this season.

The former NBA shooter, who played six seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers and the New Jersey Nets helped the Istanbul side reach the Euroleague last eight with final positions in Group E still to be determined. Anadolu Efes can finish second if they beat Real Madrid tonight and Panathinaikos beat CSKA Moscow by more than two points.

Farmar, an ex-UCLA standout wants his side to not only advance to May’s Final Four in London, but to win the Turkish league as well.

“Although being the only Turkish team in the quarter-finals is a success for us, our goal is to win it all this season,” Farmar said.

“Euroleague competition is the best basketball in the world outside of the NBA, and we know what we had to work to get to London. I want the Turkish league title and I also want to get the Final Four ticket and win the title over there. That is our goal from the beginning.”

Anadolu Efes are currently second in the Turkish Basketball League, one game behind leaders Galatasaray. They comfortably disposed of mid-table side TED Kolejliler last week.

With the spectacular failure of the much anticipated Fenerbahce side and the brave fight put up by Besiktas – which came up short – Anadolu Efes are the lone Turkish representative in the Euroleague, once the Top 16 concludes. It was a Euroleague season where Turkey was expected to compete in numbers bigger than just one, but Anadolu Efes are out to prove that one competitor is better than none at all.
