The Turkish Basketball League has been officially suspended along with every professional sports league in the country.

The long overdue decision, was made by the Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Kasapo.

The Turkish BSL was the last basketball league in Europe that was still being played amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Kasapoglu met with presidents of the soccer, basketball and volleyball federations today (Thursday) to discuss how the coronavirus outbreak in the country has impacted the sporting leagues.

In the end, it was decided that the professional sports should be postponed, including basketball. The duration of the suspension will be determined at a later meeting.
