In an interview with Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report, the two-time NBA champion Danny Green compared three NBA coaches he worked with most recently during his career.
The Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard said that Gregg Popovich and Frank Vogel are rather similar because they both are more defensive coaches. “Pop, if you don’t play defense you’re not playing offense. You’re not playing at all, basically. So Frank is kinda the same in that sense, but not as, as a stickler as Pop was,” he said.
When speaking about the Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse, the 32-year-old guard mentioned his focus more on the offense. “Nick obviously, he emphasized defense, but he’s more of an offensive coach. He likes to push basically up and down, get shots. So I had a lotta fun. We had more freedom,” Green said.
